Fin Track won the 'Globalizing Business' theme

The Problem:

In Nepal, most businesses documents are digital and physical documents. Sales might be tracked in POS systems, but a huge chunk of financial data is just scattered and messy. Physical Bills like VAT bills, purchase receipts, and payment slips are stuffed in drawers, forgotten. Screenshots, email attachments, Viber and WhatsApp slips are lost in some random message. Someone, usually the accountant or business owner, has to dig through all this and type it into spreadsheets. Slow. Painful. Error-prone. Trying to find a specific transaction like “that VAT bill from Bhatbhateni for office chairs last month” is hours of wasted hunting. This leads to reconciliation nightmares, wrong financial reporting, and wasted time no one gets back.

The Solution:

Fin-Track fixes this. It gives businesses one place to digitize, structure, and understand all non-sales financial documents.

The raw text goes to an OCR model, acting like a junior accountant. It extracts key info like vendor name, date, line items, and totals into clean, structured JSON. We create embeddings for both raw text and verified transaction data. Searches understand intent, not just exact words. Searching “leather leg covering” finds a “shoe” bill. Searching “milk coffee” finds a “latte” transaction. Typos or imprecise language don’t matter. It works like talking to a person.

Once everything is digitized, structured, and semantically searchable, users can eventually ask complex questions in Nepali or English like “Why doesn’t my bank statement match this month’s purchases?” or “Show all VAT-payable bills from last quarter” or “List all bounced cheques from ABC Enterprises.” Fin-Track turns a drawer full of chaotic papers into a searchable, structured, intelligent financial database. It saves time, reduces errors, and gives instant insight into the health of your business.
